2.1. Matters not regulated in these GTC, as well as the interpretation of these GTC, shall be governed by Hungarian law, with particular regard to the relevant provisions of the following legislation:

  • Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code (“Civil Code”);
  • Act CVIII of 2001 on certain issues of electronic commerce services and information society services (“E-Commerce Act”);
  • Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses;

  • Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection;
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and Act CXII of 2011 on the Right of Informational Self-Determination and on Freedom of Information (“Privacy Act”).

The mandatory provisions of the applicable legislation shall apply to the parties without any separate stipulation.

2.2. These GTC are effective from 10 August 2026 and remain in force until revoked; they supersede the previous GTC effective from 1 December 2020. The Service Provider is entitled to amend these GTC unilaterally. The Service Provider shall publish any amendments on the websites 11 (eleven) days before they enter into force. Orders already placed and bookings already recorded shall be governed by the GTC in force at the time the order or booking was made.

2.3. By accessing the website, webshop or online booking system operated by the Service Provider, or by reading its content in any way, even without being a registered user, the User accepts the provisions of these GTC as binding. If the User does not accept these terms, the User is not entitled to view the content.

2.4. To finalise a booking or order, the User must expressly accept, by ticking a checkbox, these GTC (including the booking and cancellation terms), the privacy notice and the house rules of the salon. Without this declaration the booking cannot be finalised.

2.5. The Service Provider reserves all rights in respect of the website, any part of it, the content displayed on it and the distribution of the website. Downloading, electronically storing, processing or selling the content displayed on the website, or any part of it, without the written consent of the Service Provider is prohibited.

2.6. The Service Provider accepts no liability for any temporary unavailability of the website, the webshop or the online booking system arising from causes beyond its control (in particular internet service failures, outages of the hosting or payment service provider, or force majeure). In such cases bookings can also be made by telephone.

3.Services available for purchase, gift cards

3.1. The Service Provider provides massage and body treatment services in the salon and also sells gift cards entitling the holder to use these services. The Service Provider's services are not for medical purposes, do not qualify as healthcare services and do not replace medical examination, diagnosis or treatment.

3.2. Prices displayed for the services are in Hungarian forints (HUF) and include the taxes prescribed by law. The Service Provider displays the name of the service, the available durations and the corresponding price. Images shown on the product page may serve as illustrations and may differ from reality.

3.3. If a promotional price is introduced, the Service Provider shall fully inform Users of the promotion and of its exact duration and conditions.

3.4. If an error or omission occurs in the services or prices in the webshop or the booking system, the Service Provider reserves the right to correct it. In such a case, after the error has been detected or corrected, the Service Provider shall immediately inform the User of the new details, whereupon the User may confirm the order, or either party may withdraw from the contract. No contract is formed at an obviously incorrect price (for example, a price of 0 HUF or one that is disproportionately lower than the market price as a result of a typing error).

3.5. Gift card terms

  • The gift card may be redeemed for the service and duration indicated on it, within the period of validity indicated on it, by prior appointment.
  • Only the salon’s own gift cards can be redeemed at Gordiusz Masszázs Szalon. Their number contains a year and a serial number in one of these forms: 2025-GA-001, 2025-MPEV-001 or GO-2025-001.
  • The gift card cannot be exchanged for cash and is non-refundable after expiry of the withdrawal period referred to in point 6.11.
  • The gift card is used up upon redemption (when the booking is finalised). If the User fails to attend the booked appointment without prior cancellation in accordance with point 6.1, the value of the gift card is forfeited.
  • The Service Provider does not replace a lost or destroyed gift card if the card's identification number cannot be established.

4.The booking and ordering process

4.1. The User may book an appointment or buy a gift card without registering.

4.2. Online booking

Steps of booking in the online booking system:

  • selecting the service and, where more than one is available, the duration;
  • selecting the massage therapist (for couples' treatments, the required number of therapists; if only some are selected, the Service Provider automatically assigns the missing therapist);
  • selecting an available day and time;
  • providing the details required for the booking: name, telephone number, email address and, for paid bookings, the billing details required to issue the receipt;
  • selecting the payment method and finalising the booking.

When a gift card is redeemed, the process starts with entering the card number and the service shown on the card, and ends without a payment step.

4.3. Buying a gift card in the webshop

The User sets the quantity of the products to be purchased, places them in the cart and enters the name of the Recipient. The contents of the cart can be viewed at any time by clicking the “cart” icon, and items can be deleted by clicking the “X” icon. The User then provides the delivery address, or the online contact at which the Service Provider delivers the gift card in digital form.

4.4. Payment methods

  • Bank card payment: online, through the SimplePay system operated by SimplePay Zrt. The Service Provider neither sees nor stores bank card details; the User enters them directly on the SimplePay interface.
  • SZÉP card payment: online, likewise through the SimplePay system.
  • Gift card redemption: the price of the booking is covered by the card and no further payment is required.
  • Payment on site: only for treatments whose total price cannot be determined in advance (for example, a treatment priced according to the number of body areas treated). In such cases online payment cannot be initiated: the booking is recorded without payment and the price is payable in the salon after the treatment. The guest cannot choose this method; the system applies it based on the nature of the service.
  • Advance bank transfer (for gift card purchases in the webshop): the User transfers the purchase price to the bank account number given in the confirmation email, stating the order number in the payment reference.
Data transfer declaration (SimplePay) I acknowledge that the following personal data stored by the data controller Mészáros Ágota EV (6722 Szeged, Nemes Takács u. 3-7/c fsz. 30.) in the user database of the gordiuszmasszazs.hu website will be transferred to SimplePay Zrt. (1138 Budapest, Váci út 135-139.) as data processor. The data transferred by the data controller: name, billing address, email address, telephone number. The purpose of the data processing carried out by the data processor: execution of the payment transaction, confirmation of transactions and fraud monitoring carried out to protect users. The nature and purpose of the data processing can be found in the SimplePay Privacy Notice: simplepay.hu/adatkezelesi-tajekoztatok

SimplePay's payment information and customer information (both in Hungarian) are available at these links.

4.5. Delivery charges (gift card)

  • Electronic card in PDF format sent by email: 0 HUF.
  • Postage: 1500 HUF, which may vary depending on current postal delivery rates and therefore always requires prior agreement.

4.6. The total amount payable, as shown in the order summary and the confirmation email, includes all costs. The User is notified of the total amount when the booking or order is confirmed.

4.7. The Service Provider sends the invoice to the User electronically (by email) in PDF format. By accepting these GTC, the User consents to the invoice being sent and received in this manner. If the User also requires a paper invoice, the User may request one from customer service.

4.8. Correction of data entry errors: before completing the booking or ordering process, the User can always go back to the previous step and correct the data entered. The User may request the correction of the details of a booking already submitted through the Service Provider's contact details.

4.9. After submitting the booking or order, the User receives a confirmation by email. If this confirmation does not arrive within a reasonable time depending on the nature of the service, and in any case within 48 hours, the User is released from the binding offer or contractual obligation. The booking and its confirmation shall be deemed received when they become accessible to the addressee. The Service Provider excludes its liability for confirmation if the confirmation does not arrive in time because the User provided an incorrect email address or cannot receive messages because the storage space of the User's account is full.

4.10. The contract is concluded when the confirmation reaches the User.

5.Processing and fulfilment of orders

5.1. The online booking system displays the salon's available appointments in real time and records bookings automatically; the system sends the confirmation by email immediately. Webshop orders are processed during opening hours: an order placed after the end of working hours is processed on the following working day.

5.2. The Service Provider provides the selected (or automatically assigned) massage therapist for the booked appointment. If the therapist is prevented for an unforeseeable reason (for example, illness), the Service Provider shall notify the User without delay and offer another therapist or another appointment. If the User does not accept this, the Service Provider shall refund the price already paid in accordance with point 6.8.

5.3. If the bank card payment has been completed successfully but the booking fails to be recorded for technical reasons, the Service Provider shall contact the User without delay to arrange an appointment or, at the User's choice, refund the amount paid.

5.4. The Service Provider sends a reminder by email 48 hours before the treatment or, for bookings made later than that, on the morning of the day of the treatment.

6.Cancellation, rescheduling and right of withdrawal

6.1. Cancellation and rescheduling terms

The User may request rescheduling or cancellation of a booked appointment through the Service Provider's contact details, primarily by telephone on +36 30 587 2686, no later than 48 hours before the appointment. Cancellation notified within this deadline is free of charge: the Service Provider refunds the price already paid or, at the User's choice, credits it towards a new appointment, and the gift card remains available for use.

6.2. In the event of cancellation notified less than 48 hours before the appointment, or failure to attend the booked appointment, the Service Provider is unable to resell the reserved capacity. In such cases, for gift card bookings the User forfeits the value of the card, and for prepaid bookings the Service Provider does not refund the price paid. The Service Provider may, at its discretion, depart from this rule, in particular in the case of certified illness or another obstacle beyond the User's control.

6.3. The Service Provider asks the User to notify any cancellation in every case, even if it falls within the 48-hour period, so that another guest can take the freed-up appointment.

6.4. The consumer's right of withdrawal

Pursuant to Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council and Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses, a User who qualifies as a consumer may withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The period begins:

  • for goods (a gift card sent by post), on the day the goods are received;
  • for a contract for the provision of services (appointment booking) and for a gift card sent electronically, on the day the contract is concluded.

The 14-day right may be exercised until the end of the 14th day. If the Service Provider fails to provide information on the right of withdrawal, the User may exercise the right of withdrawal within 12 months in accordance with Government Decree 45/2014.

6.5. How to exercise the right of withdrawal. The User may exercise the right of withdrawal through any of the Service Provider's contact details by an unequivocal statement, in writing (by email or by post) or by telephone, or may use the model form below. If notice is given by post, the date of posting (the postmark on the envelope) shall be taken into account; if notice is given by telephone, the time of the call shall be taken into account. The Service Provider shall confirm receipt of the withdrawal statement without delay.

Model withdrawal / termination form (Annex 2 to Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.)) To: Mészáros Ágota EV, 6722 Szeged, Nemes Takács u. 3-7/c fsz. 30., info@gordiuszmasszazs.hu I, the undersigned, hereby declare that I exercise my right of withdrawal/termination in respect of the contract for the sale of the following goods or for the provision of the following service: Date of conclusion of the contract / date of receipt: …………………………… Name of consumer: …………………………… Address of consumer: …………………………… Signature of consumer (only if this form is submitted on paper): …………………………… Date: ……………………………

6.6. When can the right of withdrawal not be exercised?

The User is not entitled to the right of withdrawal:

  • under point l) of Section 29(1) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), in the case of leisure/service activities scheduled for a specific date, such as a treatment booked for a specific time in the booking system; for a booking made for a specific time, the User is not entitled to the 14-day right of withdrawal without giving reasons (the cancellation options under points 6.1 to 6.3 remain available regardless);
  • in the case of a contract for the provision of services, after the service has been fully performed, if the Service Provider began performance with the consumer's express prior consent and the consumer acknowledged that the right of termination would be lost once the service had been fully performed, that is, after the treatment has been received;
  • in respect of goods or services whose price or fee depends on fluctuations in the financial market which cannot be influenced by the Service Provider and which may occur during the withdrawal period;
  • in respect of perishable goods or goods that retain their quality only for a short time;
  • in respect of sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery;
  • in respect of goods which, by their nature, become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery;
  • in respect of alcoholic beverages whose actual value depends on market fluctuations that cannot be influenced by the Service Provider, the price of which was agreed by the parties when concluding the sales contract, but which can only be delivered after the thirtieth day following conclusion of the contract;
  • if the User is a business within the meaning of the Civil Code, that is, a person acting in the course of their profession, independent occupation or business activity.

6.7. If the User expressly requested that performance of the service begin within the withdrawal period and subsequently withdraws, the Service Provider is entitled to a fee proportionate to the service performed up to that point.

6.8. Upon receipt of the withdrawal statement (and, in the case of withdrawal concerning goods, after the goods have been returned), the Service Provider shall refund the full amount paid by the User, including the costs incurred in connection with performance, without delay and in any case within 14 days. The Service Provider shall make the refund using the same means of payment as used by the User; the User shall not incur any additional costs as a result of this method of refund. With the User's express consent, the Service Provider may use a different means of payment for the refund.

6.9. In the event of withdrawal concerning goods, the User shall return the goods without undue delay and in any case within 14 days of communicating the withdrawal. The deadline is met if the User sends the goods before the deadline expires. The User bears the direct cost of returning the goods and no other costs. The Service Provider may withhold the refund until it has received the goods back or until the User has provided proof of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.

6.10. The User may be held liable for any diminished value of the goods only if it results from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

6.11. After the 14-day withdrawal period, a purchased voucher or gift card cannot be exchanged for cash.

7.Conditions for using the services

7.1. Before the first treatment in the salon, the guest must complete a short health declaration, so we ask guests to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early on their first visit. The guest can indicate this when booking by ticking the “This is my first visit to the salon” checkbox.

7.2. Before the treatment, the guest must inform the massage therapist of any health condition known to the guest that is relevant to the treatment, in particular contraindications to massage (for example, fever or infectious disease, recent injury, thrombosis, pregnancy, inflammation, skin disease, cancer, recent surgery). The Service Provider accepts no liability for any damage resulting from the guest having provided false or incomplete health information. The massage therapist may refuse to carry out the treatment if doing so would pose a risk to the guest's health.

7.3. We ask guests to arrive punctually for the booked appointment. In the event of late arrival, the treatment can be carried out in the remaining time, up to the end of the originally booked appointment; however, the fee for the service is not reduced, since the next guest's appointment cannot be postponed. At the Service Provider's discretion, a delay of more than 15 minutes may be treated as a failure to attend (see point 6.2).

7.4. The Service Provider's house rules apply in the salon, and the guest accepts compliance with them by finalising the booking. The Service Provider may refuse or discontinue the provision of the service to a guest who seriously or repeatedly breaches the house rules or who behaves disrespectfully or threateningly towards the massage therapist; in such cases the fee for the service is non-refundable.

7.5. A minor guest may receive treatment only with the consent of their legal representative.

8.Warranty and guarantee

8.1. Defective performance

The Service Provider performs defectively if, at the time of performance, the service or the goods do not meet the quality requirements laid down in the contract or by law. The Service Provider does not perform defectively if the User knew of the defect, or should have known of it, at the time the contract was concluded.

8.2. Statutory warranty for defects (kellékszavatosság)

In the event of defective performance by the Service Provider, the User may assert a statutory warranty claim against the Service Provider in accordance with the Civil Code and, in the case of the purchase of goods, Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.). At the User's choice, the User may request repair or replacement, unless fulfilling the chosen claim is impossible or would impose disproportionate additional costs on the Service Provider; if the User did not request, or could not request, repair or replacement, the User may request a proportionate price reduction, may repair the defect or have it repaired at the Service Provider's expense, or, as a last resort, may withdraw from the contract. Withdrawal is not permitted on the grounds of an insignificant defect.

The User must notify the Service Provider of the defect without delay after discovering it. In the case of a consumer, a defect notified within two months of its discovery shall be deemed to have been notified without delay. The User can no longer assert statutory warranty rights after the two-year limitation period calculated from performance of the contract.

Within one year of performance, notifying the defect is sufficient to assert a statutory warranty claim; thereafter the User must prove that the defect already existed at the time of performance.

8.3. Product warranty (termékszavatosság)

In the event of a defect in goods, a User who qualifies as a consumer may, at their choice, assert either the statutory warranty claim set out in point 8.2 or a product warranty claim. As a product warranty claim, the User may only request repair or replacement of the defective goods, from the manufacturer (producer or importer). A product warranty claim may be asserted within two years of the goods being placed on the market by the manufacturer. Statutory warranty and product warranty claims may not be asserted simultaneously, in parallel, for the same defect.

8.4. Guarantee (jótállás)

The mandatory guarantee under Government Decree 151/2003 (IX. 22.) does not extend to the massage services provided by the Service Provider or to the gift card, and the Service Provider does not undertake any voluntary guarantee either. In handling warranty and guarantee claims, the Service Provider proceeds in accordance with Decree 19/2014 (IV. 29.) of the Minister for National Economy (NGM rendelet) and records the claim in a written report.

9.Miscellaneous provisions

9.1. The Service Provider is entitled to use subcontractors to perform its obligations. It bears full liability for their unlawful conduct as if it had committed the unlawful conduct itself.

9.2. If any part of these GTC becomes invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity, lawfulness and enforceability of the remaining parts.

9.3. If the Service Provider does not exercise a right to which it is entitled under these GTC, the failure to exercise that right shall not be deemed a waiver of it. Any waiver of a right is valid only if made by an express written statement to that effect. The fact that on one occasion the Service Provider does not strictly insist on an essential condition or stipulation of these GTC does not mean that it waives its right to insist on strict compliance with that condition or stipulation in the future.

9.4. The Service Provider and the User shall endeavour to settle their disputes amicably.

9.5. These GTC have been drafted in Hungarian; in the event of a version in another language, the Hungarian text shall prevail.

10.Complaints handling and legal remedies

10.1. The Service Provider aims to fulfil every booking and order to an appropriate standard and to the complete satisfaction of the guest. If the User nevertheless has a complaint regarding the contract or its performance, the User may communicate it orally in the salon, by email to info@gordiuszmasszazs.hu, by telephone on +36 30 587 2686, or by letter sent by post to the Service Provider's registered address.

10.2. The Service Provider investigates an oral complaint immediately and remedies it as necessary. If the User does not agree with the handling of the complaint, or if immediate investigation of the complaint is not possible, the Service Provider shall without delay draw up a written record of the complaint and of its position on it, and hand a copy to the User.

10.3. The Service Provider shall reply to a written complaint in writing and on the merits within 30 days of its receipt, and arrange for the reply to be communicated. The Service Provider shall give reasons for any rejection of the complaint. The Service Provider shall keep the record of the complaint and a copy of the reply for 3 years and present them to the supervisory authorities upon request.

10.4. Consumer protection authority

If the User detects an infringement of their consumer rights, they may file a complaint with the consumer protection authority competent for their place of residence. Since 1 January 2017, consumer protection authority tasks have been performed by the county government offices (and the Budapest Government Office) and by the district offices; the former National Consumer Protection Authority (Nemzeti Fogyasztóvédelmi Hatóság) has been abolished. The authority competent for the Service Provider's registered office is the organisational unit of the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office (Csongrád-Csanád Megyei Kormányhivatal) acting in its consumer protection capacity.

Contact details of the government offices The current contact details of the territorially competent government office can be found at kormanyhivatalok.hu. Consumer protection information: fogyasztovedelem.kormany.hu

10.5. Conciliation board

A User who qualifies as a consumer may, free of charge, turn to the conciliation board for the out-of-court settlement of a dispute concerning the quality of the service or the conclusion and performance of the contract. A precondition for initiating conciliation board proceedings is that the consumer attempts to settle the dispute with the Service Provider. The Service Provider is under an obligation to cooperate in the conciliation board proceedings. The board competent for the Service Provider's registered office is:

Csongrád-Csanád County Conciliation Board (Csongrád-Csanád Megyei Békéltető Testület) Address: 6721 Szeged, Párizsi krt. 8-12. (Csongrád-Csanád County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Csongrád-Csanád Megyei Kereskedelmi és Iparkamara) Website: bekeltetes.hu, where the current contact details of all conciliation boards can be found The consumer may also turn to the board competent for their place of residence or place of stay.

10.6. Instead of or in addition to the above options, the User is entitled to enforce their claim in court. Please note that the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform ceased operating on 20 July 2025, so proceedings can no longer be initiated there.

11.Data protection

The Service Provider processes the User's personal data in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR and the Privacy Act. The scope of the data processed, the purpose, legal basis and duration of the processing, the data processors and the rights of the User are set out in detail in the Privacy Notice.
